October was a great one with plenty going off on campus. We commemorated Black History Month; helped to raise £125 for the World Wildlife Fund as part of their ‘Wear it Wild’ campaign, and there was a rather spooky zombie run, too. There was an enticing menu in celebration of Diwali and Create Theatre hosted some fun Halloween theatrical workshops – oh and a nice half-term break at the end which we hope you all enjoyed.
We welcome our students back from half-term and wonder, what’s in store for November?
Each November, we host our annual graduation ceremony at the stunning Kelham Hall in Newark, with students graduating from a number of Higher Education courses including HNC/Ds, foundation degrees and full honours degrees. Interested in studying university-level with us? There’s still time to apply through UCAS for September 2018. Visit www.wnc.ac.uk/HE for more information.
If you haven’t ordered an NUS card yet, now is a great time to get one. With Christmas on its way, students can take advantage of 100s of discounts both online and on the high street. Visit www.nus.org.uk to find out more.
On Wednesday 15 November the college will be hosting an open evenings and careers event. Bring friends and family to find out more about the various progression routes available to you as a college student. As well as tutors to answer your questions, there’ll be industry professionals from a number of different sectors to give you an idea of what it’s like to work in their industry, and what you’ll need to get there. Join us 5.30pm-7.30pm. Register an interest, here.
There are also a number of campus tours running in November. Book here to view our facilities and get a first glimpse of life at college.
