What’s on at West Notts: June

The end of the college year is creeping quickly upon us, but that doesn’t mean everything grinds to a halt here at West Notts – we’ve got upcoming open evenings, theatrical events and football matches this June.

Many of you will have already completed or will be going through the exam stage. Throughout May we shared a number of revision tips for students on our Twitter page. If you need some inspiration, take a look back through our feed for some top tips, or alternatively read last month’s blog.

Come along and cheer on the teams at the West Notts United tournament on Wednesday 14 June, at the Derby Road Campus 10am-4pm. The event is aimed at promoting awareness on four of the protected characteristics; race, gender, sexual orientation and disability, and will feature a range of matches throughout the day. Who will get their hands on the trophy?

Create Theatre have a number of performances in June including an amateur performance of Lloyd Webber’s popular musical; CATS, and The Grain Store. Tickets can be purchased from the box office at the Derby Road campus, online here or by calling 01623 413363.

Eggbox Theatre will also be bringing a charming children’s interactive performance on Sunday 11 June with ‘The Moon and Me’ which tells the story of Roux and a rocket to the moon. There will be three performances on the day suited for children age 2-5 years and their families. Find out more here.

Revive hair and beauty salon and spa remains open throughout the summer for clients looking for hair and beauty appointments, or a trip to the spa. For more information, please call 01623 413615 or visit the website.

On Wednesday 14 June we’re hosting an adult and university-level information evening. Those aged over 19 are invited to come along and find out more about progression opportunities and return to study. The event will be held at the Derby Road campus, at 5.30pm-7.30pm.

On Thursday 15 June the college will be hosting our annual Celebration of Achievement awards ceremony. The evening celebrates students recognised by their tutors for a variety of achievements from progression in their studies to development of character. We’d like to say a big well done to all nominees, and we hope you enjoy the evening.

If you’re leaving college or the university centre for pastures new, we wish you the very best in your next ventures. If you’ll be back in September, have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
