What’s on at West Notts? August

_WFP1042Each year in August, thousands of young people across the country await their fate as A Level and GCSE results are published. Whether you’ve done better than expected or not as well as you hoped – there are so many options available to you at Vision West Nottinghamshire College, in order to pursue your desired career path.

The college is still taking applications for September 2017 – and you don’t have to wait for your exam results in order to apply.

Those looking to take the traditional academic route on to university can choose to study A Levels. The college offers 17 different subjects (of which students usually choose three or four) at our dedicated sixth form at the Derby Road campus. Students can choose from traditional subjects including maths, English and science, to more exclusive options like government and politics or media, which you may not find at sixth form. Many of our A Level students have gone on to their first choice university.

Vocational courses are great for hands-on learners, and offer students a route into specific careers, in areas such as business, childcare, hair and beauty, health and care, hospitality and cookery, sport and more. All students are encouraged to take up work placements, to help them get a better understanding of the industry they wish to work in, make new contacts and open new doors.

Apprenticeships are also on offer to anyone over the age of 16, and provide those undertaking one with on-the-job training, valuable work experience and a weekly wage too.
Apprenticeships become available all year round, so you could apply for one today, or see one you like the look of later in the year. Those interested in apprenticeships can view our current vacancies at www.visionapprentices.co.uk or call 0800 121 8317 to speak to a member of the apprenticeships team.
